Help a Ferret!

If you are unable to get a shelter ferret, but want to help out the shelter, there are several ways you can do so. Remember, your donation is tax deductible and will go directly to helping ferrets in need. Here's how you can help.

  1. Donate money in any amount to Lane Area Ferret Shelter and Rescue through PayPal or by mailing your personal check to:

Lane Area Ferret Shelter and Rescue
    323 Exeter Avenue
    Eugene, OR 97401

  2. Donate old cell phones through Wireless Fundraiser
  3. Donate money directly to Emerald Valley Pet Medical Center. With a credit card, you can donate via telephone or fax. Alternatively, you can mail them a personal check in any amount. The Lane Area Ferret Shelter and Rescue medical care fund has been established to help defray costs of vaccinations, spays/neuters, and emergency medical treatment for shelter ferrets.
  4. Sponsor a Ferret! This program allows you to choose a ferret from our shelter page to sponsor. Your tax deductable donation ensures the ferret you sponsor gets the vaccinations, medical care, and shelter care it needs. If you would like to sponsor a Lane Area Ferret Shelter and Rescue ferret, simply go to our PetFinder shelter page, select the ferret of your choice and click on the "Sponsor Me" button.

For your donation to LAFL, Emerald Valley Pet Medical Centers's LAFL medical care fund, or your sponsorship of one of the LAFL shelter ferrets, we will send you an I Helped a Ferret certificate from Lane Area Ferret Shelter and Rescue and your name will go on our LAFL Shelter Angels page. You will also receive a receipt for your tax-deductible contribution, and when applicable, a notification when your sponsored fur-kid is adopted. (Sorry, but for the purpose of maintaining privacy, you will not be given the adoptive parties’ name, nor will they be given the name of you, the sponsor).

Lane Area Ferret Shelter and Rescue is a no kill shelter. If the ferret you are sponsoring is not placed within the year of your sponsorship, it will continue to stay at the shelter for as long as it needs to. You may, of course, choose to renew your sponsorship.

Lane Area Ferret Shelter and Rescue is a domestic, nonprofit organization. Our major funding comes from the adoption fees of the ferrets, and fund-raisers such at our annual Ferret Agility Trials.

Every penny you donate goes directly to the care of LAFL Shelter ferrets! We are an all-volunteer organization, so there are no salaries paid.
