Ferret Associations and Clubs
- American Ferret Association - The AFA is dedicated to promoting the domestic ferret as a companion animal, protecting the domestic ferret against anti-ferret legislation, mistreatment, unsound breeding practices and overpopulation, and providing and up-to-date information about vets, research data, rescue shelters and other information of interest to ferret owners.
- Cascade Ferret Network - The Cascade Ferret Network (CFN), a 501(C)(3) tax exempt corporation, is different from traditional ferret shelters: instead of housing the ferrets in a single place, the CFN depends upon a network of qualified foster homes, each of which cares for only a few ferrets at a time. This network approach to sheltering ensures our foster ferrets the same care we give our pet ferrets: play time outside the cage each day, lots of human interaction every day, food, water, and well being checked daily and a complete cage cleaning each week.
- Pacific Ferret Shelter Network - The Pacific Ferret Shelter Network was established to maintain existing shelters and help new nonprofit shelters get started in Oregon, Washington, and Idaho. In a single year, as many as 800 ferrets find new homes through the efforts of the dedicated people who operate these ferret shelters.
- Totally Ferret - The Washington Ferret Rescue and Shelter, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. We are a no-kill shelter caring for ferrets in the Puget Sound area. The shelter is located in Bellevue, Washington.
- West Valley Wuzzles - Based in Phoenix, AZ, WVW maintains a breeding program and a shelter. Well laid out site with eye-pleasing graphics. They also offer ferret items for sale, including custom cages! A word of caution for ferret addicts - looking at the pictures of the baby ferrets they have bred may cause an overwhelming need to increase your own population of fuzzies!
